You can make a difference for people in eastern Africa!

(we only recommend programs with which we have personal experience)

Make a DONATION to HIV/Malaria Education in Malawi

You can support HIV and Malaria Education by the Museums of Malawi by donating here. All that you give is shared with Aaron Maluwa and Mike Gondwe, museum educators. They take their programs to tens of thousands of people each year in remote locations. Getting people with little or no education to be tested is a big challenge, despite the availability of anti-retro viral drugs provided by the Clinton and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations.
Your donation can be made HERE through the National Association for Interpretation. They send back monthly reports on their work to all donors and most who give make a monthly donation in an amount they can afford. This puts the money on the ground quickly and with no overhead. You can give one time only or monthly as you wish.

Wire Funds to Humanity International in Czech Republic to support a variety of humanitarian projects in different locations in the world. They are assisting the Museums of Malawi with medical supplies, mosquito nets and support funds for taking HIV testing to remote villages. The Executive Committee of their Board is made up of all medical doctors who also have given their time to direct assistance when they visit these programs.

Help Support the Education of Young People in Rwanda

The Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village in northeastern Rwanda enables orphaned and vulnerable children to realize their maximum potential by providing a safe living environment, health care, education and necessary life skills.  Education and community service are used to model socially responsible citizenship in Rwanda and around the world.  Five hundred kids now call Agahozo-Shalom home, with 125 entering and 125 graduating each year.   Your contributions can be made through their New York City office HERE.

Throw a Bead Party in Cooperation with Bead for Life

Bead for Life sells jewelry fabricated by women in Uganda using handmade beads and Fair Trade Shea Butter to support women's rights and defeat poverty in Uganda. The jewelry is beautiful and can be seen HERE and their inspirational stories are told well by videos on their website. They distribute kits to hold Bead for Life parties throughout the U.S. It is a great organization doing amazing work in Uganda.

Make a Contribution to a Foundation who puts ARVs into communities

Learn about the Clinton Foundation's Global Initiative HERE. We are no authority on their programming but we do know that the health programs we have seen in Malawi identify the Clinton Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as the sources of the Anti-retroviral drugs they give to people who are HIV Positive. The Clinton Foundation actively seeks contributions but we do not know of the same efforts with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
